Permanent Makeup Basics

What is permanent makeup (PMU)?

Permanent makeup is the art of implanting cosmetic pigment into the upper layers of the skin to enhance features — brows, lips, and eyes — with results that look natural and last for years, not hours.

Is permanent makeup safe?

Safety is the studio's first priority. Narmela uses single-use sterile needles, professional-grade pigments, and strict hygiene protocols for every client, and reviews your health history before any procedure — all risks and contraindications are covered during your consultation and consent.

Will my results look natural?

Natural results are the entire philosophy of the studio — 'look like yourself, only better.' Every shape and shade is custom-designed for your face, and nothing is done until you approve the design in the mirror.

How long do results last?

Microblading typically lasts 12–24 months; lip blush 2–3 years; permanent eyeliner 2–4 years. Skin type, sun exposure, and lifestyle all affect longevity.

Does it hurt?

Most clients are surprised by how comfortable it is. Professional topical numbing is applied before and during every PMU procedure.

Booking & Appointments

How do I book an appointment?

Book online through the Book Now page — choose your service, pick an available date and time, and secure your appointment with a $50 deposit. You can also call or text 647-865-9704.

Why is a deposit required?

A $50 deposit secures your appointment time and is applied toward your service total. Reschedule with at least 48 hours' notice and your deposit moves with you to the new date, one time, free of charge; cancellations or reschedules with less than 48 hours' notice, and no-shows, forfeit the deposit. Full details are on the Booking Policy page.

What are the studio hours?

Monday through Saturday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The studio is closed on Sundays.

Where is the studio located?

932 Eglinton Ave West, Toronto — proudly serving clients across Toronto and the GTA.

Who qualifies for the $120 + tax microblading touch-up?

Touch-up pricing is exclusively for existing Narmela PMU Studio clients refreshing work originally done in the studio. New clients or work done elsewhere requires a full appointment.

Preparation & Healing

How should I prepare for a PMU appointment?

Avoid alcohol and caffeine for 24 hours before (and blood thinners too, with your doctor's approval); avoid retinol near the area for one week; no sunburn or active blemishes in the treatment area. Full details are on the Pre-Care & Aftercare page.

What is the healing process like?

Expect the area to appear darker and more defined for the first week, then soften as it heals. Surface healing takes 7–14 days; true healed colour settles by 4–6 weeks.

Can I wear makeup after my procedure?

Keep makeup off the treated area until it has fully surface-healed (about 10–14 days). Everywhere else is fine.

Who is not a candidate for PMU?

PMU is not performed on clients who are pregnant or nursing, undergoing chemotherapy, or have certain skin conditions in the treatment area. The intake form covers this — when in doubt, reach out before booking.
