Microblading Healing: What Really Happens, Week by Week

The most common message I receive isn't before an appointment — it's three days after, when a client looks in the mirror and wonders why her brows look darker than she expected. The answer: this is exactly what's supposed to happen. Healing is a process, and knowing the timeline turns worry into confidence.

Days 1–3: Bold and beautiful

Immediately after your appointment, your brows look crisp, defined, and noticeably darker than the final result. Pigment sits at its most concentrated, and mild redness makes the colour read even stronger. Enjoy this phase — and follow your aftercare instructions: keep the area dry, blot gently, and apply balm sparingly.

Days 4–7: The flake

Light flaking begins, usually at the inner brow. This is the skin doing precisely what skin does — renewing itself. The single most important rule of the entire healing process: do not pick. Let every flake release on its own, or you risk pulling pigment with it.

Days 8–14: The ghost phase

Here's the part nobody warns you about: after flaking, brows often look too light, as if the pigment vanished. It hasn't. A fresh layer of skin is sitting over the pigment, temporarily veiling it. This phase tests everyone's patience — trust the process.

Weeks 3–6: The reveal

As the new skin matures and turns translucent, your true healed colour blooms through — soft, natural, and dimensional. By week six, what you see is what you'll wear: brows that frame your face beautifully before you've even had your coffee.

When to reach out

Significant swelling, heat, or discomfort beyond the first days isn't part of normal healing — message the studio right away. And for everything else, no question is too small. You're my client through the whole journey, not just the appointment.
